SYMBIAN OS™
Symbian OS™ is a proprietary operating system, designed for mobile
devices, with associated libraries, user interface frameworks and reference
implementations of common tools, produced by Symbian Ltd™. It is a descendant
of Psion's EPOC and runs exclusively on ARM processors.
Symbian™ is currently owned by Nokia™ (47.9%),
Ericsson™ (15.6%),
Sony Ericsson™ (13.1%), Panasonic™
(10.5%), Siemens™ (8.4%) and
Samsung™ (4.5%).
